Hi everyone! I can sum up the past few months in a few words, sadly: work and finding a new place to live.

My apartment is jacking up their rent and once the "new and improved" fire alarms went off for no reason at 3 am, I decided I didn't want to keep living in a place that feels like a dorm.

And that's all I got. I have such a boring life now. :)

If anybody out there likes to sew, knit, and/or crochet who has some extra time on their hands, you can donate items to The Preemie Project (http://www.thepreemieproject.com/home). The patterns are really easy and you can get that warm fuzzy feeling of donating.

Do not, under any circumstances, use regular dish detergent as a replacement for dishwasher detergent. You will leave your loved one to clean up a big sudsy mess in your kitchen. Probably when they're at work. And the cats will freak out because there's now a big jacuzzi in the way of their food bowl. *sigh*

Is anyone doing a Secret Santa this year? I want to do it again b/c it's so much fun! So please let me know if you or anyone you know is doing one that I can join in. Thanks!

My cat has woken me at 4 am every morning since we've been here. I love him, but I want to hurt him. I got him some Happy Cat water stuff that'll hopefully mellow him out and make him want to sleep tonight. We'll see.

I can't believe it's August. Summer went quickly.

We came in second place in the tournament last night. After beating the team once that night, it became a really close 2nd game (we had to beat them twice in order to win in double elimination) but they won in overtime. Eh well.

I also jammed my right ring finger during a crazy play where the runner ran into me on base as I was trying to catch a quick throw to the base. The other teams fans pissed everyone off but royally pissed a guy friend of mine when they started making fun of me, very loudly, since I got hurt and they stopped the game, The umpire was really cool and made sure I could hold and throw a ball before we started back up. So now, I'm having to type with 3 fingers on my right hand b/c I've taped my ring finger to my middle finger. I feel kinda like the Penguin. Or a Ninja Turtle. :)

Only 4 more days till I get the keys to my new place and begin moving in. :) Still need that job though.....

I had a jackass yell from his car at me today calling me a "big girl." If he hadn't been such a coward to yell it as he sped by me on the street today, I would've walked right up to his car, thrown the drink in my hand on him, and given what for. I can't believe that people are really like that. Why would you raise people to be mean like that? Oh yeah, and I'm not that big, thankyouverymuch. Hmpf.

F*** school.

I feel like actually getting some work done today *gasp!* so I think I'm gonna write one of my book papers while at work, providing it doesn't get too busy and my co-workers dump me with all the work. Bah.

I had such a good weekend. Nice and relaxing. It helped me sorta get back in the swing of things after being gone for over a week. It's amazing how hard it is to find your old routine. Or at least it was for me. Maybe I'm too much of a creature of habit. *shrug*

I love when older women who work in the library come in here and tell me how to my job in the same breath as saying they're technologically stupid. Then talk down to me. I HATE that. I don't come to your department and tell you how to catalog or preserve books. < / rant>

Why do I insist on going out for beer and greasy bar food? Oh yeah, b/c I'm an IDIOT. Now I feel awful this morning. Bluh.

I leave tomorrow for Nashville! Then be at the airport at 4am. Whee!

I am ready for some relaxng. I've been working on stuff pretty hard for the last 2-3 weeks so I'm excited about some rest.

Now I return to boring work where I try to stay awake. :(

I got my rough draft of my project done so now I just need to proofread it for gross errors and send it off. Once spring break is over, I'll have to call a meeting with my committee to make sure my proposed project is good enough for credit. If they say it's not, I will wish for the floor to swallow me up b/c then I'll have about 2-3 weeks to come up with something new and make it great. Eek. Let's not think about that...

Great. Photobucket disabled my links temporarily even after I deleted enough stuff to stay under my bandwidth limit. They'll come back on the 23rd, but I just posted my adayinmylife so by then, it'll be on another page. And my moods are also gone. Bah!

I saw Black Snake Moan on Sat. night and it was interesting. Not exactly a feel good movie lol. I thought it was going to be better, but Samuel L. Jackson did make it funny so it wasn't all bad. It's one of those I should've waited to rent instead of spending $8 to see it in the theater.

I saw Ghost Rider today and yes, it was kinda cheesy, but I did enjoy it. I really liked how they incorporated the whole western thing into a modern day movie. That part was awesome. Nicholas Cage says mostly anything and I start laughing. It's his voice and delivery even if it's not meant to be funny. And I must say, he definitely got better looking with age.

I've only been at work for 2 hours and I'm already bored. Guess I could work on my final project or watch a movie I brought or raid the dvd room at work. It's nice sometimes to work in the AV dept. :)

I need to buy a Ray LaMontagne album. I heart his voice.  Also, I can't stop listening to Brandi Carlile's cd. I urge you to buy.

Anybody know how to add a banner to an existing layout? I've been searching other journals and driving myself crazy trying to figure it out. And I just can't. I know it varies layout to layout, but if I can just figure out the basics, I think I'll be okay. Maybe there's a really good tutorial that I haven't seen yet that someone can point me in the direction of. I hope?

I know what I'd like my layout to look like, but I'm not sure I have enough persistence and patience to figure it out lol.

Ugh. Monday. Bleh.

I can't believe February is almost gone. I feel so behind on my project! I told myself to get a draft done by the end of the month so I gotta get crackin'. But at least I'll be one step closer to being able to graduate. Whee!

Only 11 days till Hawaii!!!! Speaking of, I bought a couple of pretty skirts for the occasion. I just need to find some shirts to go with them. I just wish it were warm enough to wear them here. :(
